Is it just me or has Kodak been in the news a lot in the past few months? They have been changing the corporate structure, fighting legal battles against lowest cost printer ink manufacturers, and developing new printing technologies. All in all, they have been pretty busy. Finally, it looks like all the hype is not going to end in some lame story about a failed corporate merger. They released their most innovative app and called it the Document Cloud Printing App. It was not too long ago that they released their iOS devices. It is a truly remarkable app. The only bad thing about it is that you cannot get it for your iPhone. This is an Android exclusive release. Still, chances are you will be seeing something a lot like it in iPhone app store in the coming months.

The newly released application will allow cloud printing to any of a wide range of Kodak all in one printers using Google's own crowning achievement, "the cloud". You can probably imagine just how much this can change personal and business communications.

Not only could it allow you to print a document on your home computer while you are driving around town but it could also potentially replace fax machines. Could it be that Kodak has finally come up with something so revolutionary that their rivals have no way of competing? While nothing is certain, it is clear that HP and Dell are concerned. Of course, they will soon be releasing their own versions of the app for release on the iPhone.

Not too happy about the idea of having to use Google's cloud? You have options! Along with Google's cloud, you can also use websites like Dropbox and Evernote with this app. Is this really any surprise? Kodak has always been one to give their customers plenty of options. It is a shame that Lexmark does not take a lesson from them. They have been forcing their customers to buy only their brand of cartridges for years. Our society was built on the principle of freedom; how dare brand name ink companies try to rule over their customers like tyrants! They need to learn a lesson before they go bankrupt. Maybe if brand ink companies did not try to force people to pay an arm and a leg for printer ink, people would not go out and buy lowest cost printer ink to save money.

Kodak is not like the other brand ink companies; freedom is in their vocabulary. They stand back and let customers make up their own minds. While a lot of their customers buy lowest cost printer ink, many remain loyal to the Kodak brand.

In the grand scheme of things, Kodak will likely climb through the ranks even as their competitors come crashing to the ground. They know their customers and respect them and that is what makes them the best choice.
